230209 Using Literary Sources in ELT (Primary School) (S) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

In this seminar we will look at the different literary genres the world is offering us and which of them we can use for English Language Teaching (ELT) in primary school. As literature requires reading and writing, we will take a closer look at the respective competences of the curriculum and how we are able to practically implement them in our teaching. We will take some extra time to focus specifically on the method of storytelling and will test it ourselves. We will explore the variety of possibilities literary sources offer to include authentic intercultural learning. Therefore, we also take a closer look at the theoretical background of this topic and its implementation in the curriculum. Throughout the whole seminar different kinds of media are used to show how they are able to support our learning objectives and enrich the learning environment.
