300456 Global Trade, Supply Chains and Labour Policy (S) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

In this course students will learn how global supply chains operate, their importance in the global political economy, and the role that labour and labour policies play at each point. We will explore evolving power relations and labour rights violations throughout supply chains, as well as the policy responses from trade unions, activists, and governments in promoting and enforcing labour rights. The course is in English,and is organised as an in person block seminar over 7 weeks. A mix of academic articles, media, and podcast materials will be used.
