This content-based language course is designed for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students of chemistry.
The main focus of the course will be on training the reading comprehension and improving the ability to speak about scientific/academic topics. One major topic will be presentations in English, participants will be expected to give a short presentation on a scientific topic of their choice.
Further we will be looking at learning strategies to enhance the participants’ scientific vocabulary, as well as, listening comprehension and difficult grammar topics will be dealt with.
Class language is English (Level B1+ of the Common European Framework). The course includes all four skills of English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
Students participating regularly and handing in homework, giving a short presentation and writing a seminar paper will be awarded 3 ECTS.
Mindestens 6 Jahre Schulenglisch werden vorrausgesetzt.
