Politische Urteilsbildung verfolgt das Ziel, die Schülerinnen und Schüler zu einem eigenständigen, rationalen und begründetem Urteil zu befähigen. Sie gilt als eine zentrale Kernaufgabe der politischen Bildung und als notwendige Vorraussetzung und Bestandteil politischer Mündigkeit. Ähnliche Ansätze sind auch Bestandteil einiger Konzeptionen ökonomische Bildung.
Das Seminar beschäftigt sich im ersten Teil (2/3 des Seminars) mit unterschiedlichen Ansätzen und Konzeptionen politischer und ökonomischer Urteilsbildung, ihren Annahmen, Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschieden. Dabei sollen auch Parallelen zu sozialpsychologischen Einstellungskonzepten mit in Betracht gezogen werden.
Im zweiten Teil werden unterschiedliche Methoden zur politischer und ökonomischer Urteilsbildung erprobt und ihre Umsetzbarkeit im Unterricht an beispielen diskutiert.
