Mit Hilfe der in Bielefeld entwickelten Software BIIGLE (https://ani.cebitec.uni-bielefeld.de/biigle/) steht ein webbasiertes Tool zur Annotation von maritimen Bildern zur Verfügung. Es wurde bisher unter anderem genutzt um ein System zur computergestützten, d.h. halb-automatischen Detektion von Tiefsee-Objekten (Tiere, Pflanzen, Manganknollen, ...) zu entwickeln. Im Rahmen des Projekts soll das bisher vorhandene System auf neue Daten angepasst sowie mit neuen Funktionen erweitert werden. Hierbei sind offene Forschungsfragen aus den Bereichen Datamining, Segmentierung und Bildverarbeitung sowie Datenbanken, Visualisierung und maschinellem Lernen zu klären.
Die gewählten Themen können in Kleingruppen bearbeitet werden.

Requirements for participation, required level

Kenntnisse in mindestens einer der Sprachen C/C++, PHP, JavaScript sowie Interesse an Datamining, Segmentierung, Bildverarbeitung, Datenbanken, Visualisierung oder maschinellem Lernen sind erforderlich.
