Im Seminar beschäftigen wir uns mit Adaptionen dramatischer Texte für den Film. Das Seminar ist findet in Kooperation mit dem Lichtwerk Bielefeld statt. Die Teilnehmer:innen bereiten kurze Einführungsvorträge für ein öffentliches Screening der Filme ausgehend aus der Seminardiskussion zu den vier Stücken: William Shakespeares ‚Macbeth‘, Tom Stoppards ‚Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead‘, Euripides' ‚Medea' und Yasmina Rezas ‚Le Dieu du Carnage‘ und besprechen die Verfilmungen von Joel Coen (‚Macbeth‘, 2021), Tom Stoppard (‚Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead‘, 1990), Paolo Pasolini (‚Medea', 1969) und Roman Polański (‚Carnage‘, 2011) vor (die Auswahl ändert sich ggf. noch). Im Seminar werden die Stücke analytisch vorbereitet, Grundlagen der Filmanalyse vermittelt sowie Techniken des Vortragschreibens eingeübt.
