Ziel des Seminars ist es, das Spannungsfeld Natur/Kultur, in dem sich der Mensch befindet, philosophisch auszuloten. Dabei dient die klassische philosophische Frage „Was ist der Mensch?“ (Kant) als übergeordnete Leitfrage des Seminars, die multiperspektivisch beantwortet wird. Damit dies gelingt, lesen wir Schriften exponierter Vertreter der philosophischen Anthropologie und der Kulturphilosophie und reflektieren diese gemeinsam. Dabei werden vor allem Theorien deutschsprachiger Denker herangezogen, die zu den kulturphilosophischen und anthropologischen Klassikern zählen, wie bspw. Herder, Dilthey, Cassirer und Gehlen. In einzelnen Sitzungen werden wir zurückgreifen auf Erkenntnisse zur Konstruktion von Geschlechtlichkeit, die im WS 14/15 im Rahmen der „Feministischen Philosophie“ erarbeitet wurden.
