231027 Visiones de la desigualdad en América Latina (S) (WiSe 2018/2019)

En este curso se analizarán los enfoques teóricos metodológicos desde los cuales se han abordado las desigualdades sociales en Latinoamérica. En principio se busca un entendimiento de qué son las desigualdades sociales, sus expresiones y manifestaciones, cómo se mide y calcula y cómo se propone disminuirla.
Además, la desigualdad será entendida de forma relacionada con otros fenómenos como pobreza, clase social, así como desigualdades de género, origen étnico, generacionales y urbanas. Particularmente se hará énfasis en las desigualdades territoriales o las expresiones de desigualdad que se dan en las ciudades. Para esto habrá un acercamiento desde teóricos como David Harvey.
Adjunto a eso se pretende usar algunos ejemplos concretos de casos en países o ciudades latinoamericanas a fin de evidenciar cómo ha sido el acercamiento al concepto de desigualdad, y cómo se ha tratado de solucionar, es decir, en este curso se pretende también hacer un análisis de las propuestas de disminución de las desigualdades sociales, que algunos organismos internacionales o gobiernos han puesto en práctica.
