230476 'Prominenz in den Medien' (S) (WiSe 2017/2018)

Nachdem in der Vergangenheit 'Prominenz' zumeist mit besonderen Leistungen verbunden war, hat sich der Begriff der Prominenz im letzten Jahrzehnt durch TV-Formate wie Castingshows und Reality-TV oder Phänome wie Influencer im Web 2.0 stark verändert. Prominenz ist nicht (unbedingt) länger an spezifische gesellschaftliche Leistungen gebunden, sondern ein bloßer Medieneffekt: 'Famous for being famous'. Im Rahmen dieses Seminars wollenwir uns die historische und soziale Entwicklung von Prominenz ansehen und erarbeiten und uns dann mit den aktuellen Formen von Prominenz und der Frage, was verändert sich wie und mit welchen Auswirkungen beschäftigen. Dazu werden konkrete Fallstudien erarbeitet und analysiert. Leistungspunkte sollen in Form von Projekten und Präsentationen von den teilnehmenden Studierenden erworben werden.
