It is notoriously difficult for young school leavers to decide what to do after school, and if they decide to study, which subjects to choose. There is no large-scale source of information on what, for example, it means to study "Anglistik" in the BA or "British and American Studies" in the MA.
Some universities have installed self-assessment "tests" on their homepages that give prospective students the opportunity to obtain information about that university and that degree course and to test themselves and their interests and abilities. Ideally, this gives them the chance to assess whether this subject and this university are the right one for them. (See, e.g. at Freiburg: https://www.osa.uni-freiburg.de/anglistik/page64026.html)
The English department at Bielefeld would like to implement such a self-assessment test on its homepage. It will include a language section but also questions on interests, reading behaviour, expectations, career plans, etc.
As students of English at Bielefeld, YOU are ideally placed to design such a self-assessment test, including the necessary research, the technical set-up online, an empirical survey among our current student population, etc.
IF YOU INVEST THE REQUIRED TIME AND EFFORT IN THIS CLASS AND HELP PRODUCE SUCH A SELF-ASSESSMENT TEST, THIS CAN COUNT AS YOUR PRAXISSTUDIEN / CULTURAL EXCHANGE.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
A corresponding course offer for this course already exists in the e-learning system. Teaching staff can store materials relating to teaching courses there:
