Dear students in British and American Studies,
The summer school might be of interest to (some of) you. A couple of Bielefeld students attended the summer school in previous years and, to the best of my knowledge, considered it a great experience.
Kind regards,
Ellen Grünkemeier

Betreff: SUISS 2027 - Summer School in Scotland
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the 80th Scottish Universities' International Summer School (SUISS), which will run from the 12th July – 21st August 2027 at the University of Edinburgh. We would be very grateful if you could help circulate the attached poster to your colleagues and students.
To mark this milestone anniversary, we are launching our new Queer Studies course, which will be taught by our very own Dr Gina Gwenffrewi from the 26th July - 7th August 2027. Further details available on the SUISS website:
https://www.suiss.ed.ac.uk/programme/queer-studies/
As always, we will also be offering the following residential courses, which can be taken for university credits, and sought at undergraduate and postgraduate level: Creative Writing; Modernism, Contemporary Literature and Scottish Literature; and Contemporary British and Irish Theatre and Performance.
All of our courses are supplemented by a wide-ranging social and cultural programme and will include readings by contemporary Scottish authors and performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Edinburgh is the first UNESCO World City of Literature and is home to highly acclaimed authors such as Maggie O'Farrell, Ian Rankin, Irvine Welsh and Alexander McCall Smith to name just a few.
Please note that if three students from the same university attend our courses, we will offer them a 20% discount off the course fee. For the latest information, please visit our website at http://www.suiss.ed.ac.uk<http://www.suiss.ed.ac.uk/>. We also offer a wide range of scholarship opportunities.
If you would like to stop receiving these emails, please reply with 'remove from mailing list' in the subject.
Best wishes,
Dr Gina Gwenffrewi and Dr Carly Brown

This workshop offers students affected by racism a safe space to share experiences and develop practical strategies for self-empowerment and handling racist situations in university life. Through open discussion and reflection exercises, participants will focus on personal resources and boundaries with absolutely no pressure to share private stories.
