Contents of the subject Sports Science
Die Studiengangsvariante zielt ab auf die Qualifizierung für die Arbeit im Berufsfeld Schulen der Sekundarstufe I. Erziehung und Bildung sowie die Entwicklung und Durchführung von Fördermaßnahmen im Bereich Bewegung, Spiel und Sport im späten Kindesalter, im Jugendalter und im Bereich der Frühadoleszenz sind hierbei zentrale Aufgaben. Dementsprechend stellen sie auch die zentralen Inhalte des Studiums dar.
Das Studium trägt zum einen der gestiegenen Bedeutung, die Bewegung, Spiel und Sport in der betreffenden Altersspanne zukommt, Rechnung und berücksichtigt insbesondere die heterogenen Voraussetzungen der Heranwachsenden und deren spezifische, unterschiedliche bewegungs- und sportbezogene Bedürfnisse. Neben der Aufgabe der Entwicklungsförderung durch Bewegung, Spiel und Sport geht es auch um die Befähigung der Teilhabe an der Bewegungs-, Spiel- und Sportkultur. Dabei soll u.a. auch den negativen Begleiterscheinungen des Bewegungsmangels entgegengesteuert werden.
Im Zentrum steht die Vermittlung fundierter Kenntnisse und der kritischen Reflexionsfähigkeit in ausgewählten Bereichen der Sportwissenschaft und der Didaktik und Methodik der Sport- und Bewegungsfelder. Hierzu werden sowohl die Bewegungsbedürfnisse und -fähigkeiten von Kindern und Jugendlichen in den Blick genommen als auch Kenntnisse über motorische Schwächen vermittelt. Dies berücksichtigend geht es grundsätzlich darum, von theoretischen Überlegungen ausgehend Empfehlungen für die pädagogische Gestaltung von Spiel- und Sportsituationen abzuleiten. In allen Studiengangsvarianten wird ein Verständnis von Sportunterricht vertreten, der inklusiv, geschlechter- und sprachsensibel ist.
Als Besonderheit des Bielefelder Studienangebots bieten wir ein intensiv begleitetes Praxissemester im Master of Education und die Möglichkeit, eine integriert vermittelte Qualifikation als Lehrkraft an Förderschulen zu erwerben.

What are the access requirements?
Access to the Bachelor programme is granted to those who have a university entrance qualification suitable for Germany (e. g. German ‘Abitur’).
Please note that further approval requirements also apply for this subject:
First of all, a medical certificate is required certifying that the applicant is able to meet the physical requirements of a sports degree programme. The certificate must not be older than three months at the time of enrolment. The final proof of aptitude is deemed to have been provided if there is evidence of other academic achievements at a sufficient level.
