Legal questions arise in almost all areas of the professional world. Often, the consequences of professional appointments can only be assessed against the background of legal knowledge. Therefore, acquiring basic legal knowledge is also an important qualification for professions other than the classical legal ones. If you are interested in legal issues and would like to give your major studies a corresponding orientation with basic legal knowledge, you can acquire such a qualification with the Bachelor Minor Subject Law.

In the core subject studies, you will learn the basics of the various areas of law (private law, public law, criminal law), their fundamental content and important legal texts. Furthermore, you will be introduced to the basics of processing legal cases. You will learn to grasp, understand and process simple legal facts and issues and to present them in an expert opinion.
In this way, you can use the legal knowledge you have acquired as an additional qualification in various areas of the world of work, ideally in line with your chosen major subject.
After completing the core subject, you can deepen your studies in the profile phase in three different areas of activity:

  • Industry Management: This option provides you with basic knowledge, especially in labour, commercial and company law as well as tax law. This prepares you for a job in the private sector.
  • Organizations and Associations: You will gain an insight into the field of special administrative law and work in public authorities.
  • Social and Educational Occupations: You will gain knowledge of family and inheritance law, criminal law, labour law and education law for activities in the social sector (e.g. counselling, educational and youth welfare institutions, etc.).

If you would like to structure your studies in the profile phase more individually, you can freely take two modules of your choice from the entire profile selection area.

As a minor subject student, you are welcome to make use of the faculty's extensive advisory services at any stage of your minor subject studies. Furthermore, the well-equipped library of the faculty is open to you.
