Competencies

The course "Current fields of sport economic and sport sociological research" is designed to enable you to take up current topics in sport economic and sport sociological research, translate them into relatively independent questions and present them for discussion in the context of presentations, taking into account scientific and presentation methodological standards.
By completing the academic achievement in the form of a scientific presentation, you will not only demonstrate the acquisition of specialised knowledge, but also show that you are communicatively competent.

In the "Accompanying seminar for the BA thesis", you will present your own research question and analysis at an advanced stage of your work and learn how to defend it.

In your Bachelor's thesis, you will demonstrate that you are able to work on a sports sociological/sport management-related and/or sports economic issue using scientific methods. The accompanying seminar promotes your ability to write your Bachelor's thesis in accordance with academic standards.

Content of teaching

In the course "Current fields of sport economic and sport sociological research", you will focus on current topics in sport economic and sport sociological research with the intention of taking up and developing your own science-oriented questions. With the guidance and support of the "accompanying seminar", you will typically work on a question of your own choice as part of your Bachelor's thesis using empirical data from the Sports Science sub-disciplines of Sports Sociology/Sports Management or Sports Economics.
