Competencies

In the MA thesis, you demonstrate that you can apply the theoretical and methodological knowledge you have acquired to a sports-related scientific or didactic question and work on it independently in accordance with (sports) scientific standards. The research question for the MA thesis usually arises from a course in one of the modules on specialisation in the subject or didactics, from a study project or from the Teaching Experience Semester.

Content of teaching

As part of your MA thesis, you will work independently on a theoretical or empirical question from one of the sub-disciplines of Sports Science.

Recommended previous knowledge

Attendance of courses on specialised science and didactics.

The MA thesis is an independent scientific, written elaboration of approx. 50 pages (correspondingly more for group work). Its completion within the planned workload of 15 CP (450 hours) must be guaranteed. The preparation of the thesis is preceded by a counselling interview between the student and the supervisor. The supervisor then registers the thesis with the examination office, which then informs the student of the task and deadline for submitting the Master's thesis. After registration, the thesis must be completed within six months and submitted to the examination office in digital form (PDF) by the deadline.
