Competencies

They acquire knowledge of the general principles of cognitive behavioural intervention strategies and measures and can assess the effectiveness of individual caoching methods for selected situations and problems. You will be able to apply individual technologies to specific situations and test their effectiveness. This will enable you to create and evaluate concepts for target group-specific counselling and sports psychology support.

You will demonstrate the acquisition of these competences by deepening a selected topic in a seminar paper. This should be based on preliminary work carried out as part of a module element, e.g. in the form of a paper, a presentation or a practical test.

Content of teaching

In the course "Cognitive Behavioural Intervention and Coaching", you will receive an overview of sports psychology intervention strategies such as self-regulation and control methods (e.g. autogenic training, progressive muscle relaxation; anxiety regulation strategies). This will be taught to you both theoretically and in practical sessions. In the project course, you will apply selected procedures in individual sport-specific/sport-practical settings, advise athletes in practice, for example, and check the effects of the measures using biophysical or psychological diagnostic procedures (e.g. biofeedback procedures, anxiety inventories).
