Dieser Master of Education richtet sich in erster Linie an Absolvent*innen der Bachelor- und Masterstudiengangsvarianten mit dem Berufsziel Lehramt Grundschule bzw. Lehramt Haupt-, Real-, Sekundar- und Gesamtschule mit dem Studienschwerpunkt Integrierte Sonderpädagogik (ISP/G) bzw. (ISP/HRSGe) an der Universität Bielefeld.
Diesen Absolvent*innen können aus ihrem bisherigen Studium Leistungen im Umfang von bis zu 60 Leistungspunkten anerkannt werden.
Die Absolvent*innen verfügen sowohl über eine Ausbildung in den zwei sonderpädagogischen Fachrichtungen "Lernen" und "Emotionale und Soziale Entwicklung" als auch über die Qualifikation in den entsprechenden allgemeinen Lehrämtern (HRSGe bzw. G). Weiterhin wird durch die Integration bildungswissenschaftlicher und sonderpädagogischer Module eine umfangreichere bildungswissenschaftliche Ausbildung ermöglicht als es in traditionellen sonderpädagogischen Studiengängen der Fall ist.
Die Absolvent*innen werden daher in besonderer Weise qualifiziert sowohl für die Arbeit in inklusiven Modellen wie dem gemeinsamen Lernen als auch für die Arbeit an den entsprechenden Förderschulen. Dabei werden neben den sachlich-fachlichen Kompetenzen auch systemische und kommunikative Kompetenzen vermittelt, die für die Tätigkeit im Kontext einer inklusiven Unterrichtung, aber auch an Förderschulen sowie im Zusammenhang mit sonderpädagogischen Beratungs- und Unterstützungssystemen besonders bedeutsam sind.
Die Doppelqualifikation der Absolvent*innen trägt dazu bei, die Herausforderungen einer inklusiven und kooperativen Unterrichtung und Förderung anzunehmen, zur Weiterentwicklung einer Schule für alle Kinder beizutragen und sowohl die Konstruktionen der Sonderpädagogik als auch die blinden Flecken der allgemeinen Schulpädagogik kritisch infrage zu stellen.

Access to the Master of Education is granted to those who can provide evidence that they have a first university degree which has a standard period of study of at least six semesters and qualifies them a for profession. Whether the first degree provides suitable access also depends on the kind of teaching qualification to be pursued.
A first degree for a subsequent Master of Education programme with the professional goal of a teaching qualification is generally given if the Bachelor degree was completed at Bielefeld University (according to the Bachelor Examination Regulations (German ‘BPO’) for the 2011 study model) with a corresponding orientation (professional goal and choice of subjects).
Other degrees may be accepted if applicants can provide evidence of academic achievements for the intended teaching qualification that are substantially equivalent to those of the above-mentioned bachelor degree. For example, these can be degrees
