Environmental Sciences

Environmental Sciences at Bielefeld University examine nature and the environment, current problems, and potential solutions from an interdisciplinary perspective. Students engage with biological and ecological topics, as well as with chemical and physical fundamentals that are crucial for understanding environmental problems. To ensure that these solutions have an impact in practice, the programme also covers environmental law, linking natural science content with the legal knowledge required in an environmental context.

After completing the Bachelor’s degree, graduates can deepen their profile through a Master’s programme or move directly into employment, for example, in nature conservation and environmental protection organisations and authorities, in planning and consultancy firms, or in companies and industry.
