The Economic Committee is a joint body of the staff council for staff in administration and service and the staff council for academic and artistic staff - based on Section 65a LPVG NRW. The aim is to actively support economic developments at the university and to help shape them at an early stage before financial decisions are made to the detriment of employees. The Economic Committee examines the financial situation of the university, evaluates investments, cost-cutting measures and the use of new technologies and informs and advises the staff councils. The focus here is on the effects on jobs and working conditions.
