Immanuel Kant ist berühmt und für viele auch berüchtigt wegen seiner Theorie des kategorischen Imperativs. Das Zerrbild, das bei der Lektüre der „Grundlegung zur Metaphysik der Sitten“ entstehen kann, ist das einer formalistischen Ethik, mit der sich keinerlei materiale Pflichten begründen lassen. Außerdem mag man Kant den Vorwurf eines moralischen Rigorismus’ machen, weil die Neigungen des Menschen laut „Grundlegung“ keine Rolle spielen – entscheidend ist, dass er seine Pflicht tut.
In diesem Seminar werden wir uns mit einer Schrift Kants beschäftigen, mit der solche (Vor-) Urteile über die Kantsche Ethik in Frage gestellt werden können: der „Tugendlehre“ (der vollständige Titel lautet „Metaphysische Anfangsgründe der Tugendlehre“, das ist der zweite Teil der „Metaphysik der Sitten“).
