Pierre Bourdieu gehört zu den bedeutendsten Sozialtheoretikern des 21ten Jahrhunderts. Insbesondere seine Studien zu Klassen, Milieus und Lebensstilen sowie seine Veröffentlichungen zu Habitus und Praxis werden auch in den Erziehungswissenschaften sowie in der Sozialisations- und Bildungsforschung breit rezipiert. In diesem Seminar sollen in einem ersten Schritt die theoretischen Begriffe Bourdieus aufgearbeitet werden und Kernpunkte aus zentralen Werken erarbeitet werden. In einem zweiten Schritt soll an Themen wie Bildung, soziale Milieus, Raum und Reflexivität die Bedeutung Bourdieus für die Erziehungswissenschaft und Soziale Arbeit diskutiert werden.
In einem weiteren Schritt wollen wir den vielfältigen Anschlüssen erziehungswissenschaftlicher Forschung und Theoriebildung an Pierre Bourdieus Werk nachgehen. Hierbei sollen insbesondere erziehungswissenschaftliche empirische Studien zu sozialer Ungleichheit, Milieuforschung, Bildung, und Sozialisation bearbeitet werden.

Anhand von vorhandenen und recherchierten Texten sollen die Sitzungen vorbereitet werden. Eine aktive Mitgestaltung in Form von Diskussionen und eigenen Beiträgen ist eine weitere wichtige Voraussetzung.
Prüfungsleistungen können in Form einer Hausarbeit oder einer mündlichen Gestaltung erbracht werden. Eine Studienleistung kann in Form eines Inputs oder eines Protokolls erfolgen. Weitere Möglichkeiten werden in der ersten Sitzung bekannt gegeben.
