Contents, comment

Creative writing and other creative activities in the L2 English classroom have immense potential for supporting and promoting language acquisition and mastery of the L2. Rather than being "time-fillers", they can play a central role in language learning and teaching. In this seminar, we will try out a wide range of creative writing and other creative activities and discuss how to implement them effectively in the language classroom.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.

For the Studienleistung, participants will work in groups to develop collaborative creative tasks for the secondary English classroom and present these in microteaching sessions towards the end of the week.
A PL is possible in the form of a "Referat mit Ausarbeitung" (based on the materials developed and the microteaching) or a "Projekt mit Ausarbeitung" based on the techniques discussed in the seminar, but not necessarily those presented in the microteaching. Any PL will have to be submitted by 15th March 2026.
