In diesem Seminar betrachten wir zunächst die Landeskundediskussion seit der Konstitution des Faches Deutsch als Fremdsprache. Verbunden mit der Suche nach dem richtigen Begriff für den Gegenstand „Landeskunde“ (resp. „Kulturstudien“, resp. „kulturbezogenes Lernen“ uvm.) waren und sind dabei immer auch Diskussionen um seine Inhalte, Ziele und Aufgaben sowie das Verhältnis zu seinen Bezugswissenschaften.
Danach werden aktuelle Themen der Landeskundediskussion gezielt in den Blick genommen: Welche Rolle spielt „die Nation“ im Zeitalter der Globalisierung? Ist der Kulturbegriff noch angemessen? Wie ist das Verhältnis zwischen Faktenwissen und -lernen und der „diskursiven Landeskunde“? Die Auseinandersetzung mit diesen Fragen erfolgt sowohl auf Basis einschlägiger Fachartikel als auch auf einer kriteriengeleiteten Analyse aktueller DaF- und DaZ-Lehrwerke.

Es wird empfohlen, die Module der Fachlichen Basis vor Beginn der Profilphase abgeschlossen zu haben.
