Achtjähriges Gymnasium und Zentralabitur werden häufig als Hindernisse zur Berücksichtigung projektorientierter Ansätze im Geschichtsunterricht angeführt. Wir wollen in diesem Theorieseminar fragen, ob das wirklich so ist und welche Möglichkeiten für historische Projektarbeit im modernen Geschichtsunterricht bestehen. Oder ist sie aus fachdidaktischer Sicht sogar zwingend erforderlich? Wie sinnvoll ist historische Projektarbeit bei der Ausbildung historischen Denkens? Wie kann fachdidaktisch fundierte historische Projektarbeit aussehen? Welche Kriterien guter historischer Projektarbeit am lokalgeschichtlichen Beispiel gibt es und wie ist sie zum Scheitern verurteilt?
Nach einführenden grundsätzlichen Fragen der Fachdidaktik wird am Beispiel dieser Lehrkonzeption versucht, Antworten auf diese Fragen zu finden: Die Rolle projektorientierten, regionalgeschichtlich orientierten Unterrichts im Geschichtsunterricht. Dabei werden Praxisbeispiele untersucht und eigenständig (weiter-) entwickelt. Hierzu werden Exkursionen durchgeführt, bspw. in das Preußen-Museum NRW in Minden und evtl. an andere historische Lernorte nach Absprache. Diese Exkursionen werden jeweils auf die zu leistenden SWS entsprechend ihres Umfangs angerechnet.
