The seminar is intended for master students with a solid background in high-dimensional statistics or probability. It will take place as a block seminar towards the end of the semester.
The goal is to discuss recent topics in high-dimensional statistics and probability. Particular areas of focus include:
1) Inference in high- and infinite-dimensional statistical models
2) Nonasymptotic random matrix theory with applications to signal processing
3) Random matrix theory with applications to deep learning
4) Manifold learning and topological data analysis

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
