Ab November 2023 zeigt das LWL-Preußenmuseum Minden die Sonderausstellung „Preußen auf See. Auf schwankenden Planken“. Gezeigt werden auch einige Seestücke, die sich seit dem 16. Jahrhundert als eigenes Genre etablierten. Im Seminar gehen wir genau diesen visuellen Erzählungen von Abenteuer und Scheitern nach und stellen sie in den Kontext von ideen- und kulturgeschichtlichen Überlegungen. Wie übersetzt sich das Phänomen des Scheiterns ins Bild? Mit welchen visuellen Kniffen arbeiten die Darstellungen von Seeschlachten? Welche Metaphoriken lassen sich ablesen? Es geht - ein Klassiker der Kunstgeschichte - immer noch um das genaue Hinschauen, um das Sehen lernen. Neu- und Wissbegierige Studierende sind daher herzlich willkommen!
