Die Sowjetunion ging aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg nicht nur mit vielen Millionen Opfern und Zerstörungen, sondern gleichzeitig als Weltsupermacht hervor. Trotz der fortdauernden wirtschaftlichen Schwierigkeiten und politischen Einschränkungen, etablierte sich eine moderne Informations-, Wissens-, Konsum- sowie Spaßgesellschaft, in der den Individuen und verschiedenen Gemeinschaften die Möglichkeit geboten wurde, neue Handlungsspielräume zu erfinden, auszuprobieren und auszuhandeln.

Die dynamische Transformation der (post-)sowjetischen Nachkriegsgesellschaft auf dem Weg in die globale Moderne ging zu Ende, als Putin am 24. Februar 2022 mit der russischen Invasion in die Ukraine begann.

Im Rahmen dieses Seminars werden wir klassische, revisionistische und neuere historiographische Ansätze zur Interpretation der sowjetischen Vergangenheit in der Epoche des ‚Kalten Krieges‘ erkunden und versuchen, diese in Bezug auf die historischen Quellen anzuwenden.
