In diesem Seminar werden die zentralen Theorien, Methoden und Ergebnisse der ökonomischen und soziologischen Arbeitsmarktforschung vermittelt. Das Hauptaugenmerk gilt den Konsequenzen, die sich aus den Veränderungen von Beschäftigungsformen und Arbeitsmärkten für die Sozialstruktur einer Gesellschaft ergeben. Ausgangspunkt ist dabei die Beobachtung, dass sich die Veränderungen der Arbeitsmärkte unter anderem aus einer Veränderung von betrieblichen Beschäftigungspolitiken ergeben. Im Unterschied zu den Annahmen vieler ökonomischer und makro-soziologischer Ansätze werden damit die Heterogenität zwischen einzelnen Betrieben und Organisationen für die Prozesse am Arbeitsmarkt relevanter. Genau dieser Aspekt soll in diesem Seminar detaillierter auf der Grundlage aktueller empirischer Befunde diskutiert werden.
