Various observations have uncovered the standard model of cosmology. In this lecture, I will explain the basics of cosmology from a theoretical and observational point of view.
In this lecture, I plan to cover the following subjects:
1) Thermal history of the Universe
2) Structure formation of the Universe
3) Cosmic Microwave Background
4) Cosmic inflation
This lecture does not assume any knowledge about general relativity and cosmology, but it is preferable if students have already learned analytical mechanics, statistical mechanics, and some basics of quantum field theory.
The lecture is scheduled on Wednesday and Friday, every two week:
Oct. 9, 11, 23, 25
Nov. 6, 8, 20, 22
Dec, 4,6, 18, 20
The exercise is scheduled on Friday of the weeks when there is no lecture.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
