Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Weimarer Republik gehört zu den obligatorischen Inhalten der Sekundarstufe II, in der Sekundarstufe I wird sie eher vernachlässigt. Dabei begegnet sie uns häufig als Krisengeschichte, deren "Geburtsfehler" zum Scheitern führen mussten oder deren Ende in der nationalsozialistischen Diktatur alles überdeckt.
Vor diesem Hintergrund soll im Seminar die Frage diskutiert werden, wie man "Weimar" im Unterricht behandeln kann - auch und gerade weil die Weimarer Republik in den Gedenkjahren 2018/2019 geschichtskulturell präsent wie selten ist. Zunächst sollen daher grundlegende Texte diskutiert werden, bevor dann unterschiedliche Aspekte (beispielsweise literarische Texte (z.B. Fallada) oder filmische Annäherungen (z.B. Babylon Berlin) oder auch Graphic Novels) auf ihre unterrichtliche Eignung hin untersucht werden. In einem weiteren Schritt gilt es, eigene Unterrichtsvorhaben zu entwickeln, diese zu präsentieren und zu diskutieren.
