Die Lehrveranstaltung führt Studierende systematisch und problembezogen in die Soziologie der Organisation ein.
Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, bei den TeilnehmerInnen ein grundlegendes Verständnis für Organisationen - als besonderen und folgenreichen Sozialsystemen in der modernen Gesellschaft - zu wecken und dabei die Kompetenz einzuüben, Organisationsphänomene als solche zu erkennen und in ihren Voraussetzungen und Folgen zu beschreiben.
Die Themenstellungen des Seminar orientieren sich an vier organisatorischen Problemdimensionen: den internen Prozessen des Organisierens und Strukturen der Organisation (Selbstbezug), den Beziehungen von Organisationen zu ihren Umwelten (Umweltbezug), dem Verhältnis Individuum und Organisation (Teilnehmerbezug) sowie dem Verhältnis von Organisation und Gesellschaft (Gesellschaftsbezug).
Im Seminar sollen diese Problemdimensionen anhand von ausgewählten klassischen und modernen Beiträgen zur Organisationssoziologie erarbeitet werden.
