Jede soziologische Organisationsanalyse - ob sie nun im Kontext der wissenschaflichen Forschung oder der berufspraktischen Anwendung organisationssoziologischen Wissens stattfindet - ist auf Methoden der Organisationsanalyse angewiesen.
Im Seminar sollen ausgewählte (qualitative) Methoden vorgestellt und anhand exemplarischer empirischer Studien vergleichend diskutiert werden. Dabei wird es nicht vorrangig und allgemein auf den Gesichtspunkt ankommen, sie als je spezifische Techniken der Datengewinnung und -analyse exemplarisch zu verdeutlichen; gefragt werden soll vielmehr nach ihrer je spezifischen Eignung und Reichweite, um Organisationsphänomene methodisch kontrolliert zu erheben und interpretieren. Unter diesem Gesichtspunkt setzt das Seminar Grundlagen der Organisationssoziologie bei den TeilnehmerInnen bereits voraus (einschlägige Organisationsbegriffe werden zu Beginn des Seminars nur in knapper Form rekapituliert).
