In diesem Kurs, der der praktischen Einübung der Textanalyse und methodischen Interpretation dient, sollen zentrale erkenntnistheoretische Texte der britischen Empiristen des 17. und 18. Jahrhunderts, also John Locke, George Berkeley und David Hume, gelesen werden. Zu den empiristischen Kernthesen zählt die Grundannahme, dass alle Erkenntnis letztlich der Sinneserfahrung entspringt. Im Kurs werden die für die drei Denker daraus jeweils resultierenden Auffassungen etwa von Begriffen und Wahrnehmungsgehalten von Interesse sein.
Zur Erlangung einer Leistungsbescheinigung (BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) werden mehrere kürzere schriftliche Ausarbeitungen erwartet.
