230198 Grammar & Usage (S) (WiSe 2025/2026)

Contents, comment

This seminar focuses on those areas of English grammar and usage that present particular challenges to you, the (already proficient) users of English as a foreign language; its main purpose is to make sure that you have the ability to use grammatical structures, collocations, and idiomatic formulations appropriately and correctly in a variety of contexts, with particular attention to the kind of language appropriate to an academic register. Apart from increasing your own mastery, you will, I hope, also pick up ideas for effective grammar instruction (which is useful even for those of you who are not planning to become teachers).
