Synchronous and asynchronous
(Das Seminar findet digital, live zur genannten Zeit & z.T. digital, im Selbststudium (online synchron/asynchron) statt.)
The aim will be to introduce the field of inter- and transnational comparative educational research and to gain an overview of selected school systems and their functions all over the world. This will also include the reform debate on inclusion.
In doing so, the inter- and transnational perspective will help us to look at the persistence on the one hand, but also at the contingency of educational institutions and systems on the other hand and to critically reflect on the (im)possibilities based on the normative rules of school and teaching.
Students thus learn to reflect on (im)possibilities of inter- and transnational research in the field of education and expand their knowledge of global educational phenomena. In addition, students can reflect on the persistence and contingency, i.e. the (im)possibilities of school and education both inter- and transnationally. In this way, students can be sensitised to (their own) actions in fields of education and reflect on inclusion as a reform project 'at home' and in the world.

In this seminar, we communicate bilingually in English and German: Submissions (Studienleistungen/Prüfungsleistungen) can be made in German as well as English. One of the aims of this course is to enable the students to train their English and expand their existing knowledge along the global topic of the course. The lecturers will be happy to provide you with language support. In any case, we can always use German, should there be the need for it.
