Das Seminar widmet sich folgenden Leitfragen: Was sind Grundbegriffe und Konzepte der politischen Kommunikation? Wie und mit welchen Perspektiven kann man politische Kommunikation analysieren? Welche Rolle spielen Medien und Öffentlichkeit(en) in der Politik? Welche Kommunikationspolitiken lassen sich beobachten? Wie hat sich politische Kommunikation gewandelt? Was sind die Wirkungsmechanismen und Folgen?

Lernziele

Studierende erlangen die Fähigkeit
(1) sich soziologische und politikwissenschaftliche Theorien politischer Kommunikation zu erarbeiten und unterschiedliche Theorien auf ihren Erklärungsgegenstand und Erklärungsansatz hin zu reflektieren,
(2) empirische Fälle politischer Kommunikation zu problematisieren (was wird zum Problem gemacht?) und theoriegeleitet zu diskutieren,
(3) eine reflexive Haltung einzunehmen und die Macht-, Legitimations- und Entscheidungskriterien politischer Akteure zum Gegenstand der Analyse zu machen,
(4) politische Ereignisse aufzuarbeiten und reflektiert zu kommunizieren.
