230322 Vergil Aeneis (S) (WiSe 2017/2018)

Vergils zwischen 29 und 19 v. Chr. entstandenes Epos "Aeneis" galt bereits in der Antike als Meisterwerk. Als römisches Nationalepos hat es die Weltliteratur nachhaltig beeinflusst. Das Seminar spürt auf dem Hintergrund der homerischen, hellenistischen und früh-römischen Epik inhaltlich, sprachlich und formal der Meisterschaft von Vergils Werk nach und beschäftigt sich zugleich auch mit den besonderen Entstehungsumständen sowie mit Fragen der Rezeption.
