The course introduces the history, definition, constitution and mandate of the United Nation (UN) as one of the main international actors and focuses on the role of the UN in the current pattern of the global governance.
The course also presents the main bodies and the legal framework of the UN and its role in promoting peace and security and organizing the international efforts to respond to global challenges including poverty and climate change.
Key case studies on the UN work and policies will be presented providing a framework to question the effectiveness and the Impact of the organization.
