Bruno Latour hat gleichermaßen die Soziologie, mehrere benachbarte Disziplinen, eine Reihe interdisziplinärer Forschungsfelder und nicht zuletzt auch öffentliche Debatten nachhaltig geprägt. Im Anschluss an seine enorm einflussreichen wissenschaftssoziologischen Studien in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren, hat er sich in den vergangenen 30 Jahren zunehmend allgemeinen sozial- und gesellschaftstheoretischen Fragen zugewendet. Seine Berühmtheit und sein Status als „moderner Klassiker“ gehen neben innovativen empirischen Einsichten insbesondere auf die provokante Neufassung klassischer soziologischer Gegensatzpaare wie „Kultur“/„Natur“ bzw. „Mikro“/„Makro“ zurück.

Der Kurs führt lektürebasiert in das Denken Bruno Latour’s ein. In den Sitzungen werden die Inhalte der Texte besprochen und zentrale Aussagen vom Dozenten und den Studierenden gemeinsam erarbeitet.
