___________
This class will cover theoretical and empirical contributions to the study of trust and distrust from social cognition, social psychology more broadly, and adjacent disciplines (e.g., economics, organization science). For example, we will look at conceptualizations of trust, determinants of trustworthiness perceptions, determinants and consequences of experiencing trust (e.g., conflict & power; cooperation), and its counterpart distrust. We will also explore trust dynamics in relationships and look at personality x situation interactions in shaping trust experiences.
WICHTIG/IMPORTANT: This seminar will be held in English, including presentations, group discussions, materials, communication, and so forth. Participating students should thus be comfortable not only with reading English literature, but also completing assignments, giving presentations, and actiuvely contributing to discussions in English.
Please note that this literature list is selective and will be edited.
