Moralische Urteile spielen eine zentrale Rolle in unserem Leben. Wer moralische Urteile wie „Man sollte sich impfen lassen“, „Man darf anderen Menschen kein unnötiges Leid zufügen“, „Wir haben eine Pflicht zum Klimaschutz“ fällt und vor allem begründen möchte, sieht sich vor einer Herausforderung. Eine mögliche Antwort auf diese Herausforderung gibt der moralische Kontraktualismus. Dem moralischen Kontraktualismus liegt die These zugrunde, dass der Begriff der Zustimmung von fundamentaler Bedeutung für die Moral ist. Um bestimmen zu können, was moralisch richtig oder falsch ist, müssen wir demzufolge prüfen, ob alle Beteiligten einem Vertrag zustimmen könnten, der die entsprechenden moralischen Pflichten zum Gegenstand hat. In diesem Seminar wollen wir uns diese wichtige Position unter den Moraltheorien und ihre Spielarten näher ansehen. Wir werden uns unter anderem mit Positionen von Thomas Hobbes, David Gauthier, John Rawls und Thomas Scanlon auseinandersetzen.
