Die Veranstaltung bietet einen theoretischen und praktischen Einblick in kunsthistorische Fragen nach Materialität und ihrer Bewahrung. Neben Texten zu Material Culture, Technical Art History und Restaurierungsfragen, bietet eine dreitägige Exkursion nach Utrecht und Amsterdam Gelegenheit, in einem Kunstlabor und im Gespräch mit Restaurator:innen Aspekte von Erhaltung künstlerischer Materialien zu erfahren.
Die Exkursion findet vrsl. zwischen dem 14.-17. November statt. Die Bereitsschaft englisch zu lesen und auf der Exkursion auch aktiv zu sprechen ist unbedingt Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme.
