230440 Medienspezifische Aspekte dystopischer und postapokalyptischer Kinder- und Jugendmedien (BS) (SoSe 2023)

Das Seminar behandelt die spätestens seit dem Erscheinen des ersten Bandes der ursprünglichen Tribute von Panem-Trilogie (2008) in unübersehbarer Menge erscheinenden jugendmedialen Endzeiterzählungen sowohl dystopischer als auch postapokalyptischer Ausprägung. Im Fokus stehen Romane, Filme und Videospiele, die Merkmale der Gattung aufweisen. Beispiele hierfür sind die bereits erwähnte Tribute-Quadrologie und deren Verfilmungen, aber auch die Eleria-Trilogie Ursula Poznanskis oder ihr neuestes Werk Cryptos. Genauso können Videospiele wie The Talos Principle oder Horizon: Zero Dawn Gegenstand der Untersuchungen sein. Es werden dabei strukturalistische, raumtheoretische aber auch gattungstheoretische, intertextuelle sowie -mediale ebenso wie medienspezifische Untersuchungsmethoden der Film- und Videospielanalyse genutzt, um sich der Gattung inhaltlich sowie darstellungstheoretisch zu nähern. Dabei können beispielsweise der Aufbau der fiktiven Welten und Gesellschaften oder auch Genrehybridisierungen in den Fokus der Betrachtung rücken.

Das Seminar wird als Blockveranstaltung angeboten. Die ausgewählten Werke sind vor Seminarbeginn zu rezipieren. Weitere Informationen folgen in der Einführungssitzung.
