Wir werden im Seminar - das im zweiwöchigen Rhythmus im Stadtarchiv stattfindet - lernen, wie man mit Quellen v.a. der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts arbeitet. Thematisch werden wir uns um die bislang wenig erforschte Geschichte des Historischen Vereins für die Grafschaft Ravensberg in Weimarer Republik und NS kümmern. Der Historische Verein feiert im nächsten Jahr sein 150. Jubiläum und es wäre ein schönes Nebenprodukt des Seminars, wenn es gelänge, die Vereinsüberlieferung auf seine Positionierung, seine Netzwerke, seine Rolle in der Stadtgesellschaft durchzusehen. Vorrangiges Lernziel des Kurses ist es aber, am Beispiel dieses Themas in die Benutzung eines Archivs einzuführen (Recherche von Quellen, Kurrentschrift lesen, Material auswerten und Informationen aufbereiten).
