"‚Sicherheit‘ und ‚Identität‘ sind zwei zentrale Konzepte der Internationalen Politischen Theorie. Gleichzeitig handelt es sich bei ihnen aber auch um politisch aufgeladene ‚buzz words‘, denen nicht selten exkludierende und legitimierende Funktionen zukommen. Trotz – oder vielleicht gerade wegen – ihrer inhaltlichen Vieldeutigkeit in beiden Sphären lohnt es sich, beide Konzepte in ihrer Pluralität zu erkunden. Dazu werden wir in diesem Seminar im ersten Block traditionelle und elaborierte Sicherheitsbegriffe in der IPT rekapitulieren, bevor wir im zweiten Teil den Begriff der ‚Identität‘ ebenso aus verschiedenen theoretischen Zugängen heraus diskutieren werden. Im dritten Teil führen wir schließlich beide Konzepte zusammen, woraus ein überaus fruchtbarer, kritischer Zugang zu zahlreichen Phänomenen internationaler Politik eröffnet wird."
