This course introduces you to the demands and conventions of writing in English. Throughout the semester, you will have the opportunity to practice basic writing skills and become able to respond to a wide variety of rhetorical situations in the field of British and American Studies. We will not only explore the rationale behind academic writing but also focus on different units of academic writing such as paragraphs and essays. As part of this course, we will write paragraphs on a regular basis and combine them to produce texts that present complex arguments. This course helps you to write clearly, coherently, and in an appropriate style, which will be useful for your professional life as well.
