Because a large part of a student's skills are developed and demonstrated during the weekly class sessions, should a student misses 20% or more of those sessions, extra work will be required to prove the student's proficiency and mastery of the course material.

Requirements for participation, required level

This course is for ambitious advanced students who want to become more comfortable and fluent with their English.
- The course involves videos, texts, forum-writing, small-group speaking and presenting, English idioms and pronunciation.

One of the following is required to attend the course:
- Successful completion of a B2.2 course with the test at the end of the summer semester (see FSZ Spracheinstufung) -or-
- B2+ level score on C-Test in English -or-
- the permission of the instructor (can be requested in a short interview with the instructor at first class).

This course is for ambitious advanced students who want to become more comfortable and fluent with their English. The course involves videos, texts, forum-writing, small-group speaking and presenting, English idioms and pronunciation.
Students will watch videos and read various texts in English as well as engage with various other media. There will be weekly writing and speaking assignments as well as a final video-presentation project whose completion is required to receive the LP.

- Students are expected to participate fully in the course, both in class and on Lernraum.
- Class sessions will include several small-group (3-4 students) Breakout Room sessions with discussions on various topics, including the topic-of-the-week
- Students will prepare an informal "3 Minute Talk" presentation for a small-group session each week
- There will be an in-class pronunciation and speech training session most weeks
- Students are expected to visit the Lernraumplus each week to view videos, read topical texts and to write in Forums on the week's topic.
- Write in weekly topic-focused Facebook style Forums
- Use a search engine to find an internet article and post a brief Forum entry with the URL, searchwords and a short summary

-> Create a Final Video Project, a 3-5 minute presentation recorded on a Smartphone and posted on Lernraum

- During class students should have their cameras on - if there are internet problems, the instructor must be informed in advance or immediately upon the experience of the problem.
