230734 Englisch: Speaking for Academic Purposes, Level B2/C1 (S) (SoSe 2021)

Contents, comment

Through various activities in groups and pairs (depending on the size of the class) you will increase confidence in using your spoken English as well as expand your active vocabulary. With this course you get to speak about what you want to speak about. Themes and topics relevant to educated discourse will be sourced from the participants and built into the curriculum of the course - thus tailoring the course to fit the participants’ needs. You will also get some input on presentations and English terms relating to the features of academic argument.

We will also work on building the skills needed to present your work and guide discussions online.

This course is intended for participants at the B2 level and higher who may already have a little or a lot of exposure to English in their studies but wish to focus on improving their speaking skills. This class aims to put students on the path from simply being communicative to be articulate and expressive of more complicated concepts and subject matter.
