Die Unterscheidung zwischen Politik und Politischem steht im Zentrum neuerer und nach anfänglichen Abwehrreaktionen mittlerweile stark beachteter Diskurse einer kritischen politischen Theorie. Im Seminar wird es zum einen darum gehen, die Grundzüge dieser Unterscheidung nachzuvollziehen, derzufolge unter Politik eher institutionelle Zusammenhänge, aber auch das Normen- und Regelgefüge zu verstehen sind, während mit dem Politischen eine tieferliegende, dynamischere und in ihrer rückhaltlosen Befragung auch subversive Dimension bezeichnet wird. Zum anderen soll gleichsam der Stand der Debatte in den zeitgenössischen Debatten kritischer politischer Theorie diskutiert werden. Dabei wird es insbesondere auch darum gehen, sich mit den Folgen dieser Unterscheidung für das Verständnis von Gesellschaft, Subjektbildung und Demokratie zu beschäftigen.
