In Ergänzung zum Seminar „Männlich, weiblich, divers. Geschlecht in der Zeitgeschichte“ wird in dieser Übung die Oral History als Methode der Geschlechtergeschichte erprobt. Die Bedeutung der Oral History für die Geschlechtergeschichte liegt in ihrer Fähigkeit, unterrepräsentierte Perspektiven und Erfahrungen zu erfassen. Durch die mündliche Überlieferung können Lebensgeschichten von Frauen und anderen marginalisierten Gruppen festgehalten werden, die in traditionellen historischen Quellen selten abgebildet werden. Neben der Erarbeitung der theoretischen Grundlagen der Oral History wird die Methode praktisch ausprobiert. Im praktischen Teil werden eigene Interviews geführt, diese teilweise transkribiert und analysiert. Die Bereitschaft zur Führung von Interviews mit Zeitzeug*innen ist daher Voraussetzung zum Besuch der Übung.
